 Welcome to our website.

This website aims to promote the use of method study and the 'SREDIM' procedure, to encourage organisations in the UK and overseas, to improve their working practices in order to become and continue to be efficient to world class standards.

Method study is the forerunner to what is now known, in many circles, as continuous improvement, Kaisen and other generic improvement techniques. These newer techniques still follow, maybe under differing names, the basic method study steps and idealology as presented by Taylor and the Gilbreths.

Please feel free to browse the method study introduction, details and definitions page for information on the method study procedure.

Method study definition and SREDIM.

Method study is the systematic recording and critical examination of ways of doing things in order to make improvements.
The basic approach to Method study consists of eight steps, known as the SREDIM steps, as follows:

  1. Select
  2. Record
  3. Examine
  4. Develop
  5. Evaluate
  6. Define
  7. Install
  8. Maintain
